Little Bit Country

I have recently become obsessed with everything country. Especially cowboy boots, blinged out belts and best of all: COUNTRY MUSIC! My friends are annoyed that they have been trying to get me into country music for years, and suddenly it has consumed my life but it has nothing to do with their gentle persuading. A turning point was when my relatives (literally...all my relatives) drove for 24 hours down to Austin, Texas in an RV. First off, I felt like a hillbilly getting off that RV at every fast food place for a rest stop. The non-stop question from awed bystanders: "How many of you are there?" Just count. Anyway, the feeling of livin' in the RV for literally days on end and hearing country music everywhere we went really got to me I guess. Deep down though I have always had a love for all things country, given that I am a horseback rider and all. My favorite part to this outfit is of course my belt. Who cares I found it at Claires? I still adore that store and have proudly stood in line behind ten-year-olds while listening to another girl crying about to get her ears pierced.

Oh yeah, it's Friday! I am actually so excited for Superbowl Sunday. Not because I have a clue who is playing, but because my neighbors are coming over. And when my neighbors come over, my mother feels the need to buy out Costco's food section.
                                                                               See y'all later!

Hazy

This morning driving to school I could barely see fifteen feet in front of me (I'm sure that's a problem, just don't tell my mom). Looking out the windows at school the fog was so thick that it looked like nothing existed outside of that classroom I was in. The rest of the world had suddenly been sucked into a black hole and all that existed was my school, and everything else was empty nothingness (which is how I feel about school sometimes. Is it summer yet?) Anyway, the weather matched my attitude. Late nights at my job and doing homework leave me groggy in the morning, especially with all the distractions such as Facebook, and wait...I should be doing my German right now. I just have a quick question before I log off. Is rayon suppossed to shrink after being put in JUST the washer? This Paris shirt used to be long enough to be considered a dress. Don't know what happened there. I am currently listening to "Everybody" by Ingrid Michaelson in the background. I love that little song, it's so true.

I Just Really Love Scarves

I understand I wore this jacket in my previous post, but in my defense, my last post was on a weekend and I wore this particular outfit to school. Also, I stole this scarf out of my little sister's closet this morning. Please don't tell her. I just love that pop of color. My post today will be short and sweet because 1. My sister needs the computer to do "homework" and 2. American Idol is on and I am currently missing it! I will hopefully have time this weekend to try out some of the new craft ideas I saw on Pinterest, and if they turn out I will post pictures and instructions on my blog.
                                                                                    See ya later,

Monday, January 30, 2012

I understand that Christmas was a month ago, but red and green can go together any time of the year, right? Anyway, sorry there is only one picture for this post, but the others did not turn out all that good. A new Heartbreaker opened close by recently, and I have probably visited there at least thirty times I, however, have only ever purchased about three things from there, and am currently wearing two of those pieces. The green knit infinity-scarf matches just about everything without being too neutral and bland, and the red polka-dot tie-shirt goes well with skirts or fur vests or blazers etc. Enough about my clothes, now I would like to have a word about Pinterest. Every time I move the mouse to click on the little URL box to type in Facebook or a site for school, my fingers are automatically programmed to type in Pinterest. Weird, huh? If you have not yet visited that site, do it now. Unless you rarely have free time because then you will find yourself so obsorbed that you simply cannot go to work that day. That would be a bummer, but at least you would have cute hair.

                                                                          Toodles,

Faux Sure

I apologize if the first few pictures are a little funky. I recently got into Picnic (even though it's closing in April!) and kind of went crazy on the lighting and such. Anyway, I got this fur vest for Christmas and absolutely love it! I know what you're thinking "Wow, another fur vest? Who does she think she is?" All I have to say is "My fur vests are different colors, okay?" This second one is long and has cable knit on the back, which is my favorite feature! Don't worry, it's faux fur. I bawled during Marley and Me, you think I would wear real fur? I am in love with this necklace from Forevor 21. Doesn't quite match (everyone knows my pet peeve is mixing gold with silver, but I guess I did it against my will), but I still think it fits with the overall style of the outfit. These pictures were taken when there was more snow on the ground. Currently it is 42 degrees (heat wave for Minnesota. I shouldn't have packed away my bathing suit so soon) and the snow is getting all melty and gross.

                                                         'Til next time,

Winter Wonderland

I had a mish-mash of clothes and a bunch of outfits planned, yet after I did not like any of those I started putting different pieces together and came up with this. It has been a hectic week with the semester ending and a new one beginning. That means finals, which means sleep deprivation, lack of exercise, overeating on chocolate and sour cream & onion chips (okay, that would have happened anyway) and pushing back starting this blog...again. Well, I finally made the blog. And yes, I do regret wearing heels in the snow.

                                                                                               Love,

My first post on my new blog! I'm so excited to get this thing rolling and share all my outfit and artsy ideas with everyone! Well, I should probably introduce myself. My name is Kallan Marie, I am (almost) seventeen and live in frigid Minnesota (although the winter is not as brutal this year). I adore fashion, love vintage items (especially vintage bikes and old cars, as you can tell by my "welcome" picture). If I try to be artsy, the idea probably came from Pinterest. I am obsessed with KendiEveryday as well, so many of my outfit ideas are inspired by her. I also love horesback riding, reality TV and being with friends, even if we're doing nothing. Thanks for stopping by, and I'd love for you to follow my blog!
